My Journey

Photography has always been a central part of my life. Whether I am waiting for the perfect light on a mountainside or hiking through the desert, I am constantly driven to capture the artistry and beauty of nature, cities, and people. As a self-taught photographer, my work is a dedicated effort to reflect the unique atmosphere and emotion of every scene I encounter.

I began capturing moments professionally over a decade ago, blending passion with a keen eye for detail to create timeless images. This passion began at an early age with a Kodak camera and evolved into capturing black-and-white stills on my father’s Pentax. After traveling the world in the military and regretting the moments I left unrecorded, I fully embraced digital photography to ensure I could document the world through any lens available.

What started as a personal journey eventually grew into CANTRA Photography, a family business I run alongside my wife and business manager, Angela Feipel. The name "CANTRA" was created by our children using our family's initials, symbolizing the combined effort and support that defines our work. Today, I continue to share this passion by bringing my children along on my photography adventures.
